This Privacy Policy explains how CalMate (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the CalMate App and website.

We collect information you provide and data generated through your use of the App:

A. Account & Profile Data

  • email address and authentication details (e.g., Apple/Google sign‑in);

  • profile data such as weight, height, goals, and preferences.

B. Nutrition & Wellness Data

  • meals, ingredients, barcode scans, custom foods;

  • macros, calories, water intake, fasting windows;

  • exercise logs and activities.

C. AI Inputs & Outputs

  • photos, text, or label scans sent for AI estimates;

  • AI‑generated results saved as entries.

D. Photos

  • progress photos and related metadata (date, size, dimensions).

E. Apple Health Data (Optional)
If you enable Apple Health, we may read and/or write data such as steps, workouts, nutrition, water, weight, and body fat. Permissions are controlled by you in Apple Health.

F. Usage & Device Data

  • app usage events (screen views, taps);

  • device and app information (OS version, app version, locale).

We use your data to:

  • provide and operate the App;

  • save, sync, and display your logs and progress;

  • process AI estimates and food label scans;

  • enable Apple Health integration (if you choose);

  • improve app performance and reliability;

  • provide customer support;

  • comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

Service Providers

  • Supabase (database, authentication, storage, analytics events);

  • RevenueCat (subscription management);

  • Apple/Google (app store billing and sign‑in).

AI Processing Providers

  • Photos/text may be processed by our servers or authorized AI service providers to generate estimates.

Apple Health

  • Only if you enable it. You control permissions and can revoke access at any time.

Legal or Safety Reasons

  • If required by law or to protect CalMate and users.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active or needed to provide the Service. You can delete logs, photos, or your account in the App. Some data may be retained for legal, security, or operational reasons.

6. Your Choices & Rights

You can:

  • edit or delete entries in the App;

  • revoke Apple Health permissions in iOS settings;

  • request account deletion via the App or by emailing support@yourcaloriemate.com.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data.

7. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than where you live, depending on our service providers. We take steps to protect your data in accordance with this Policy.

9. Children’s Privacy

CalMate is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” will be updated accordingly.
