CalMate T&C

Effective date: January 29, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CalMate mobile application and related services (the “App” and the “Service”). By using CalMate, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Provider Information

The Service is provided by CalMate (“CalMate,” “we,” “us,” “our”).

2. Definitions

  • App: the CalMate mobile application.

  • Service: features made available through the App (food tracking, exercise logging, fasting, progress, AI logging, etc.).

  • Account: your personal profile created to access and sync features.

  • User Content: any data you provide or upload (meals, photos, notes, metrics, etc.).

  • AI Features: automated estimates (e.g., meal from photo/text/label, food fixes, exercise estimate).

  • Third‑Party Services: external services integrated with the App (e.g., Apple Health, App Store/Google Play, cloud providers, food databases).

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use CalMate. If you are under the age of majority, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.

4. Account & Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your Account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated.

5. Service Description

CalMate helps you track nutrition, activity, and wellness. Features may include:

  • meal and macro logging (manual, barcode, AI photo/text/label);

  • exercise logging and AI exercise estimates;

  • water and steps tracking;

  • automatic fasting tracking based on meal logs;

  • progress charts and trends;

  • progress photos;

  • Apple Health integration (optional);

  • cloud sync for authenticated users.

Some features require an Account, internet access, or device permissions (camera, photos, Apple Health).

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the App for unlawful purposes;

  • attempt to access or interfere with systems, data, or security;

  • reverse engineer or copy the App;

  • bypass usage limits (e.g., AI usage limits);

  • upload offensive, unlawful, or infringing content.

7. User Content & License

You own your User Content. By uploading or submitting it, you grant CalMate a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to host, store, process, and display it solely to operate and improve the Service (e.g., syncing, AI estimation, progress views, Apple Health export).

You confirm you have the rights to upload your content and it does not violate any laws or third‑party rights.

8. AI Features – Limitations & Responsibility

AI estimates are approximations and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Results depend on your inputs (e.g., portion sizes, ingredients). You must review and confirm AI outputs before relying on them.

We may apply usage limits to AI Features. Free plans include limited AI usage; Premium removes or increases limits (as shown in the App).

AI Features may require sending text and/or images to our servers and service providers for processing.

9. Health & Medical Disclaimer

CalMate is not a medical device and does not provide medical or dietary advice. All information and estimates are for informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified professional before making health decisions.

10. Third‑Party Services

CalMate may integrate with third‑party services (e.g., Apple Health/HealthKit, Apple/Google sign‑in, App Store/Google Play, external food databases). Your use of those services is subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third‑party services.

11. Subscriptions & Free Trial

CalMate may offer free and premium plans, including a 3‑day free trial. Subscription details (price, renewal, trial terms) are shown in the App and in your App Store/Google Play account.

Subscriptions may auto‑renew unless canceled through your store account:

Deleting your App account does not automatically cancel store subscriptions.

12. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We may release updates that are required to keep using the App.

13. Intellectual Property

The App, design, and content (excluding User Content) are owned by CalMate or licensed to us. You may not copy, distribute, or use them without permission.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the App will be error‑free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CalMate is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any losses resulting from use of the App or AI estimates.

16. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time and request account deletion as available in the App.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights.
